One of my favorite kitchen items is our NuWave oven. I had never even heard of NuWave till a sweet older couple gave us theirs, practically brand new. I didn’t use it right away, I expected it to be complicated or something I would have to research first (it’s not rocket science!) and then I finally decided to give it a try. I wish now I had tried it out sooner!
The first three uses, I roasted whole chickens. These were farm fresh, frozen chickens y’all. Ok, so fresh and frozen don’t sound right in the same sentence but that’s what they were. Anyways, I placed them into the NuWave frozen, rubbed them down in olive oil with herbs and I tell you what, those were the best roasted chickens I’ve ever cooked! Actually, I had never roasted chicken before then. I’ve cooked frozen chicken in the oven and it was usually tough and somewhat dry, so you can imagine how happy I was to have such amazing and juicy chicken. I’ve tried cooking eggs in it, went by instructions I found online and they didn’t turn out. In fact, it made me not want to try it again, they were that bad, lol. I’ve also cooked meatloaf in it. I’m picky with meatloaf but it turned out delicious as well.
I haven’t looked into what all the NuWave brand offers so I’m not sure if there are different sizes. I do know ours came with an extension piece that makes the lid taller. Overall, I personally feel it’s an awkward item to store especially in small living space but it’s so totally worth it. We try our best not to use our stove top and oven because they run on propane which can get expensive so having our NuWave, which runs on electricity, is great. Now I just need to explore more ways of using it, I’m thinking of trying a “baked” item next.
