We all have them at one time or another, and you think “What was I thinking?” or the “Why didn’t I think of that?” Those moments can make you feel either really low or just plain silly.
I had such a moment this morning. If you’ve been keeping up with my posts from the beginning you may remember I mentioned we were given a hotplate, or induction plate. I tried using this item for the first time the first week we moved in. The pan I placed on it was an acceptable size and I figured it was heavy enough for the hotplate to sense it. Evidently it was not and I thought something was wrong with the hotplate because it would turn on, beep several times then turn off.
Well, this morning I got up and since I’m still new to the RV life I’m still trying to figure out the best way to cook without having to use our propane. This is more difficult than you might think, or maybe I’m just overthinking it or making it more difficult for myself as I tend to do sometimes. So I was sitting here thinking, and suddenly thought “Hey! I have those two cast iron skillets hubby helped me clean up, I wonder if the hotplate just needed a heavier pan. A cast iron skillet would SURELY be heavy enough.” Lol. Sure enough, I set up the hotplate, plugged it in, placed the skillet on it, pushed ON and guess what? It worked! Money saved, once again. No need to cook with the propane. That makes me happy, lol. It’s also a relief to me, I get really nervous cooking with gas.
