My first (finished) upgrade in our travel trailer were my daughters curtains. I’ll be sewing up new curtains for the whole trailer but I started with my daughters curtains because those windows don’t have blinds like the rest of the windows do and the curtains HAD to go. So I looked through my fabrics, seeing what I had enough of, put them in front of my oldest daughter and, well, she wasn’t too impressed. None were bright enough, nor to her tastes. Then I had that wonderful “lightbulb” moment. I remembered the lovely sheet I found not so long ago at a local thrift store. Yes, a sheet from a thrift store, lol. What can I say? I like being thrifty. And it really was a pretty sheet, now it’s two pretty curtains. Hehe.
So here are the boring, sun bleached before curtains….
And the new pretty curtains that my girls LOVE….
I’m quite pleased with how they turned out, though I am contemplating whether our not I want to adjust the length of the bottom curtain.
Want to know a little secret? Well, it’s no secret now, lol. Until I go buy curtain rods, I used hooks and zip ties. Ta Da! I’m surprisingly pleased actually, it works really well and you really can’t tell. Zip ties, to me, are just as versatile as the oh so wonderful duct tape. They are definitely worth having around.
